Paul has written hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles for regional
and national publications, including Puget Sound Business Journal, Auctioneer,
Best of Western Washington, California Lawyer, Children’s Hospitals
Today, Los Angeles Times, Metropolitan Living and Washington Law
& Politics.
Writing Instructor
A former writing instructor in the extension program at the University of
California at San Diego, Paul also has taught writing to lawyers, individually
and in workshops.
Lawyer and Law Professor
Before becoming a writer, Paul practiced business law full time for 12 years,
first in New York City and then in San Diego. He also taught corporate and
securities law for several years at the University of San Diego Law School.
Speech Contest Winner
A long-time member of Toastmasters International, Paul speaks frequently at
Toastmaster functions. He has won numerous humorous and inspirational speech
contests. In 2003 he placed third in the Toastmasters District 2 (western
Washington) International Speech Contest.
Swimmer, Bicyclist and Pet Owner
Paul swims regularly with a Masters swim team and competes in swim meets.
Also an avid bicyclist, Paul lives in Seattle with his wife, Lynne, a health
care planner for a major architectural firm, and Ellie, their floppy-eared,
generic black-and-tan dog.
